The objective of this excerise is to create a wiki that you will use to showcase, and for the purpose of this class turn in, your creations. Once you create your wiki you will edit the homepage to act as the cover for your portfolio of work. Information that is required to be on your homepage is listed below.
Step 1
Signing up: Go to http://www.wikispaces.com/content/student - You are going to create an account by clicking, Education, Sign Up. The address you choose for your wiki should contain only your first name or some variation of it, for example, my wiki address would be http://joe123.wikispaces.com. Use ONLY your first name and use a personal email address. Again, make sure you are signing up for and education site.
Step 2
Creating the homepage: You will be editing the homepage of your wiki to serve as the cover of your portfolio of work. From here on out consider yourself a digital artist and this is the showcase of your work. You may choose a template, change the color scheme and layout, and edit the homepage however you like to reflect your personality.

Create an avatar of yourself

Perhaps try out an avatar creator like I did on mine
An animoto video (minimum 30 seconds) that highlights some interesting things about you
What is an Animoto video? Go to http://www.animoto.com , click Sign up and use the same email address you used to create this wiki to start an account at animoto. You are going to choose the "lite" option which gives you the oportunity to make unlimited amounts of 30 second videos. You will need some pictures for your video, you can bring them in on a jump drive, email them to yourself, or pull them off an online photo hosting site (provided it is not blocked). There are many options that help your make your video yours and they are adding more everyday....so explore and have fun! You are not required to use personal photographs of yourself if you do not want to. I would like to see you use the option to insert some text into your movie to give some explanation of what's going on.
Expectations: Your wiki portfolio will include everything we work on in this class, publishing to your wiki is how you will "turn in" your work. You MUST create separate pages for each project we work on, title the page appropriately and include any and all material that is required of the finished product. You will be able to include anything we create in Photoshop or Publisher and include links to any online materials you've created.

In order for me to see your work I will need you to invite me to your wiki. From your wiki's homepage click on "Manage Wiki", click the "Invite People" icon, and add my wikispaces username "melitoj".
